Hi
This would be easy in Excel but can't seem to make it work in Google Sheets. Should be some combination of IF, OR and SEARCH but I'm stuck!
I'd like cell C3 to display 'Yes' if either of cells A3 or B3 have the character '<' in them.
I wondered if the Google SEARCH function doesn't work well for this character?

Also any tips in general for working with brackets and IF statements in Google Sheets? Excel would set out nicely where the 'value if true' and 'value if false' where as I typed, but it doesn't seem so clear in Google Sheets.

Thanks!

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
Try:
Excel Formula:
=IF(OR(ISNUMBER(SEARCH("<",A3)),ISNUMBER(SEARCH("<",B3))),"Yes","No")

Edit: Sheets does the same after you enter the comma. It highlights the field you're inputting in, but goes away once you start entering stuff.

That worked perfectly! Thankyou very much
