How do I format cells to show a number entered as 18,177,538,430 to display as 18.2GB

Code:
[>999999999999]0.000,,,,"TB";[>999999999]0.000,,,"GB";0.000,,"MB"

Nice. This works perfectly for positive numbers, but, predictably, always uses the MB scale for negative numbers. Is there a straightforward way to extend this to work with negative numbers? Apparently there's a limit to three ranges per custom formatter, so I fear this problem may be insurmountable, but I didn't know how to get this far until I discovered this thread. Thanks for any info.

(And, yeah, I know I'm replying to a thread that is 10 years old. :))
