If/then with > sign

Today's question is:
Under the total column, I want an if/then statement to provide the greater of the two columns, 25. Can someone help me with this please?

A	B	Total
25	15	=formula to give me 25

You don't need IF/THEN, you can use MAX

=MAX(A2:B2)

Try to use:

C1 --> =MAX(A1, B1)
