Row numbers

I have a sales table which has customer #, customer name, sales $, salesman,etc.

I would like to create a pivot table which has row numbers as the first Column so if I filter the table by salesman the row numbers reorganize themselves

line # customer # sales amt s/m

1	a	100	jack
2	b	100	jack
3	c	100	joe
4	d	500	david
5	e	500	jack
6	f	500	joe

I would appreciate if anybody on the panel can find a solution to my problem.
All I’m looking for is simple line numbers, as the first Column on my pivot table which dynamically updates based on any filter I use
