Small help- in excel

Dear Seniors & Experts,
please request a small help in excel.

Column A have some Fruits and column B has the month ,
i need Result in "C" column based on the month order, not in fruits order.
for example , first time
i tried "Month formula abut not able to get desired result.
pls some one help me.

your attachment is in conflict with what you wrote. and your formula is also wrong.
Column B does not have month it has a date value (I'm assuming it is a date value, but you have an image not a table/mini worksheet (See xl2bb link below).

Your formula in column C has Month(C2) when t should be Month(B2)

so try this:

=IF(Month(B2)-Month(Today())=2,"-III",
IF(Month(B2)-Month(Today())=1,"-II",
IF(Month(B2)-Month(Today())=0,"-I","ERROR")))

i used the above your quoted formula ,but result not come like my attached snapshot ( the formula i quoted in attachment is for reference of what i tried )
ignore it, try your way to get result is as per expected result
pls i need result like my attachment

Are your dates real dates ? Remove the manual alignment from that column. If the values are left-aligned they are text, not real dates ( formatting is irrelevant)

i just type from original excel to this for your reference..

(A3=A9 and B3=B9, C3 and C9 are different)

What is the result I or III based on?

You have had at least 3 people tell you in this thread that you have conflicts or problems with the image you posted.
the forum is trying to help you, yet you have refused to help the forum help you.

Please post an xl2bb mini workbook or at least a table of real data that you have. The best images are sometimes helpful, but yours is ambiguous and problematic.

as stated elsewhere in this thread your "expected" outcome is ambiguous.

Dear @fjns ,you are right, its my typo mistake, A9:C9 SHOULD BE "II" allothers are correct and expect same result in column C
