Hi there!

Sorry for bothering you but somehow I can't find the solution.

In a column I may have the following content

yes
yes
no
yes
yes
yes
no
March 13
Jun 12
yes
no
July 01

How do I count # of "yes", # of "no" and # of cells with a "date"? COUNTIF (range; value) does not really work. I have to convert the date cells somehow, I guess. But I can't figure out how...

Sorry for the dump question.

George

Excel Facts

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest

Try these...

Count of Yes:

=COUNTIF(A1:A12,"Yes")

Count of No:

=COUNTIF(A1:A12,"No")

Count of dates (assuming they are true Excel dates):

=COUNT(A1:A12)
