I have a broken line graph with two sets of data.

Data set 1 I have monthly data
Data set 2 I have annual data

The X-axis displays months.

The y- axes are working fine, however data set 2 is being displayed as dots, is there a way to have excel draw lines between the dots?

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Nevermind answered my own question but I'll leave it here for a reference point:

Chart Tools > Design > Data > Select Data > Hidden & Empty cells > Show empty cells as > Connect data points with a line.
