Hi all,

Excel 2007 has over 1 million rows & over 16000 columns per worksheet (Excel 2003 65,536 rows, 256 columns).
Does it mean that to save Excel 2007 workbook well take much more time than in Excel 2003 (if we have same size of data) ?
Thank you in advance.
P. S. This is very important for me & our company.

Excel Facts

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
No, it isn't. It will only save the "used range": there where you have cells with values, formulas, formatting, and so on.

Moreover, 2007 is more compressed than 2003, it is a binary format. Hence, the same amount of data and formulas will produce smaller files and might even be faster (not sure about the latter though).

It will take equal or less time. Excel (all versions) stores only that data that is present, not a bunch of empty cells, and 2007 files are compressed.

Thank you, Wigi & Shg for reply.
So we can write a formula (joke) ?
Code:
 Saving Time 2007 <= Saving Time 2003
