Hi everyone,​

My weird issue is: I have a macro which works time after time by calling itself in the end by Application.OnTime Now. During its run, certain data gets into the sheet that are changing rapidly (certain capital market data) and the macro uses them to make certain procedures and calculations and present the results in the sheet. It's relatively a heavy marco that runs about 5 times a second.

The problem: When the mouse "leave" the excel sheet (i.e. Is in cell D15 and I "take it" to a browser to browse in the internet) excel slows down greatly (I have indication for every new run of the macro) and also become much less consistent (sometimes 0.4 sec for a run, others, 3 sec). And in order for it to run fast again, I have to "take" the mouse back to a cell in the excel sheet.​

I tried few things in order to solve this but none of them really helped:

To give a higher priority to excel through windows task manager​

To refresh the screen inside the macro: Application.ScreenUpdating = True (although it's on anyhow)​

To perform a manual calculation within the macro, although it's always automatic: Application.Calculate

​

I disabled few thing before the macro operates:​

Application.DisplayStatusBar = False
Application.EnableEvents = False
ActiveSheet.DisplayPageBreaks = False​

None of those things really helped.​

Something that did help a little was the 2 line combination before the macro calls itself in its end (and other combination of that nature):

​

Range("T25").Select (T25 is an empty cell).​

ActiveCell.Offset(0, 0).Range("A1").Select​

This did help but not a lot​

Basically, I tried anything that came into my mind that I thought could give the same "Push" that the mouse gives the excel sheet when it’s there.​

​

It’s excel 2010. The problem exist also with excel 2007 (I didn't try any other version)​

I'll be happy to get any idea that might help​
