I am looking for an example of a using a COM object in my VBA code i.e. a COM object written in VBnet or something like that. Ideally I would like the code for the COM object itself and how to compile it in say VB.net - I can then use the Microsoft community site to compile the COM object and then access it using VBA code in Excel.

The VBA code should show how to now input i.e. an array to the COM object and then retrieve the output array.

Any help is much appreciated

When they said...
When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
add the COM thru the REFERENCES, then you should be able to code it, like:

Dim oApp As MyComObj.Application
oApp.execute "blah blah"
