What context are you asking about? There are things like this code which can use it (sort of):

Next
But I've not used acControlType as it stands like you have it. acControlType is an enumeration which gives a way to have labeled constants for numeric values. I am not 100% sure I'm explaining it exactly correctly but that's in essence what it is.
