I've got a command button on my form to enable me to "add a new record". As it's set up now, when I click the button, it brings up a blank new form, which is what I want, BUT, I need the button to bring up the new form AND default to a control named "SS#". The SS# is the first field in my form. Any easy suggestions? I'm a novice, novice.
thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike

Take a look in the help file for how to set the Tab Order for controls on a form and use that to make the relevant textbox the first in the list (i.e. Tab Order = 1).

Hope that helps
