if you use Excel 2003 , then try this formula

Iam not getting the the answer, the names may not be in the same cells it may deffer from sheet1 and sheet2. the answer i got for the above formula is

Hello,

When iam trying to run the programme it is working till the Do While and it is going to end sub it is not going through the loop

Do both sheets have all the same names, but not in the same sequence? If so use andrews suggestion of VLOOKUP.
If data is A1:B4 on each data sheet, on summary sheet make
A1=sheet1!A1
B1=sheet1!B1
C1=VLOOKUP(A1,Sheet2!$A$1:$B$5,2,FALSE)
then copy down

Hi,

I think there is no value in cell(1,1)..

Check in which cell the value will be start.. if the value it starts in cell (2,1) then write R1 = 2 .. & Do While ActiveSheet.cells(R1,1).value <> ""

If the value starts in Cell(2,2) then write R1 = 2 & Do While ActiveSheet.cells(R1,2).Value <> ""

Check this.. still if u got an error.. explain briefly in which cell & in which sheet the value will be start..

So if input the values in Sheet one it automatically counts the names and same in sheet two.

what i want now is if i input the text in sheet one and two it should automatically run the programme (with command button) and give the result.
