Adding a worksheet event sub to a newly created sheet

I do not quite understand this - my macro creates a new workbook and populates it with a dozen worksheets. One of those worksheets needs a worksheet.PivotTableUpdate subroute. My question is how do I write such a thing, adding worksheet code to a non-existing worksheet?
