How does one add the result of two dates : eg.

15-07
00-03

Answer should be 15 years and 10 months

OR

15-07
00-06

Answer should be 16 years and 1 month

Thanks and regards

Shyam

If you already have the 2 formulas resulting in
A1 = 15-07
B1 = 00-03

Then this should do.
=TEXT(DATE(0,((LEFT(A1,2)+LEFT(A2,2))*12)+RIGHT(A1,2)+RIGHT(A2,2),1),"yy-mm")

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
With reference to the reply to Mr. Andrew... what I am asking is if I have three or four sets of dates one below the other, then how do I add the results. The result are in C1, C2, C3 and C4... and so on...

Date of Joining Date of Leaving Diff.
03/01/1984 31/08/1999 15-07
01/10/2007 21/01/2008 00-03
01/04/2008 21/07/2008 00-03

Hope my query is clear...
