I have a huge table of figures, which I have sorted by date, and added a column that contains the month. The other columns have data regarding costs, items ordered, profit, etc.

Is there a lookup function that will let me add up all the figures that fall within the same month? To make it simple, column A contains the months, and the figures are in columns B - F

Thanks!!

Are the months in column A dates or the month names as TEXT strings?

Jan as a TEXT entry

Or

1/1/2011 formatted to display as Jan
