Hi all,

I've got a bit of a pickle, I'm not even sure if it's possible to do. Please bare with me, as I may go all around the houses to try and explain the problem...

I have data in one column that I'd like to add up (B), but only if they correlate with an exact date that matches a date on a previous sheet. Now I know this is plausible when using the Exact function for two separate single cells. But I'd like a formula to select only cells with the right date then select data in a cell on the same row. Here's a quick example of what I mean, as I've probably confused everyone as well as myself, typing all that:

--- A -------- B
1st Jun ------ 12
1st Jun ------ 9
3rd Jun ------ 6
4th Jun ------ 3
4th Jun ------ 15

On another sheet there will be a single date that corresponds to dates in the sheet above. For instance, "1st Jun" I need a formula that will recognise that there are two values of "1st Jun" and then add together the data in another column (B) of 12 and 9 equalling 21. I will add that manually inputting "1st Jun" or any other date into a SUMIF function will not work, as I want a column to auto calculate, otherwise Id have to manually enter dates into hundreds of cells.

What do you guys think, is this possible? Thanks for your patience lol.

Cheers.
