Hello to all,
My question, though it sounds simple. I don't think it is. I have a particular list of decimal numbers in column N3 to N83 they are also in assending order.

In cell F7 I have a number 2.0 example 2 inches.

In cells F8 thru F13 is it possible to get a list of numbers that will add up to the 2.0 inches in cells F8 thru F13 from column list in cells N3 to N83 combonation of numbers.

Or combnations. Like the largest set of numbers. Thanks for any input. Tom

Below is the list in column n3 thru n13

Lost In Space

Hello Aladin Akyurek,
Thanks for the response also the Mind Bender. Wow what a forum. I'm still lost in this quagmyre. The column of numbers in column N will never change in value. Only cell F7 will. example if 2.0 is in cell F7 will grab numbers from column N example 1 and .5 and .25 and .15 and .1 to equal 2.0 It doesnt have to be 6 numbers it can be 1 or as many as 6 butr the least amount of numbers to get you there would be best. I hope I not confusing as I think I am. Thank Tom

I Really appreciate you time and input

Hello PaddyD,
Thanks for your response.
I'm still lost. Also I really respect your input on helping me out. I'll try to explain this a bit better.

In column N3 thru N83 The decimal numbers there will never change in value. In cell F7 will change as a 4 digit decimal number.

Example, If 1.000 is entered cell F7, Then F8 thru F13 or less will grab numbers. The largest numbers from column N to equal 1.000 when added up. I'm really not worried about how many cobo's there are.

Example, Cells to recieve the answers are F8 = .500 and F9=.2500 and F10=.1500 and F11=.1000 This will equal to cell F7 1.000 It doesn't have to be 6 cells it could be 2 cells in column F8 down as long as they add up to 1.000 or what ever number is entered in F7.

It can be 2 cells or as many as 3 or 4 etc. cells. But the least amount cells answered to get you there would be best. Thanks, Tom
:) :)

"I'm still lost."

Having re-created the example I posted, step by step, so as to gain an understanding of the method, then applied it to your situation - what, exactly, are you still 'lost' about?
