Android opens file from google drive as read only

I have an excel spreadsheet stored in google drive which I used to be able to open and edit on my Android phone. Now it will only open in read only mode, although occasionally it opens in edit mode. Has anyone else encountered this. Wondering if it's a bug in Android or Excel?

I have sync'd my android phone with onedrive and set the files to be available offline but the files on android always open as read only. I need to be able to edit them. The file properties on my

Solved every time I experience this by just deleting the sata and buffer for google drive app. Works like a charm every time
