Hi,

I am trying to use Application.FileSearch to find all Excel files in a certain folder. For some reason no files are found although there are definitely Excel files in this folder. Here is my code:

Set fs = Application.FileSearch
With fs
.LookIn = "C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\My Documents\Files Not Scanned"
.Filename = "*.xls"
.Execute
myfiles = .FoundFiles.Count
End With

Any ideas?

Tom,

I tried this on another computer using Windows 98 and Excel 2000 and it works fine. There must be some setting on my computer that are preventing it from working, but I have no idea what it could be. Running the procedure from the other computer should work out fine, so I thank you for your help.

Excel Facts

Ambidextrous Undo
Undo last command with Ctrl+Z or Alt+Backspace. If you use the Undo icon in the QAT, open the drop-down arrow to undo up to 100 steps.
Thanks for the follow-up. If you ever do find out what it is about that computer, please post back and let us know; I'd be very interested in knowing the cause.
