What is the array and long?
And what is the difference between the two, is there any fixed rules and parameters for each of them?

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.
An array is a collection of objects, and a long is a specific object.

You use an array by defining its length and data type. A long variable is one particular data type. If you search vba data type in Google you should find several useful articles going in to more depth.
