Ok, this is the 3rd post on this topic, I'm beginning to think it's impossible...

When I importrange names of students from a central database, their names, ESIS number, class, etc all arrive into the different subject trackers across the school.

On those trackers the teachers are imputing grades etc

Issue:
A student joins late in the year, his name is Kevin, he slots into the middle of the central database (alphabetical), he is automatically imported to all the trackers around the school, as he should.
Problem:
Liam (student after Kevin in the class lists) has his grades "moved" to now be in line with Kevin'. The last person in the list (Zelda) will have no grades as they have all been "pushed" up one row. How can I keep the existing grades in line with the correct student when new students join the school?

I did think maybe assigning cells to a particular row number would be a solution but not sure if it is possible.

Using Google Sheets btw, hence the importrange.

Many thanks.

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
