I have designed a spreadsheet for my team to use to track when patients need to be seen.
All patients are listed in rows with static information for each patient in columns A-I.
rows J onwards are the dates, J+K = 1/8/22, L+M = 2/8/22, N+O = 3/8/22 etc
They then update the information in the corresponding cells..
So if the patient in row 30, is seen on the 1st of August, they will update J30 with 'New John' or 'Review John' (where john is the clinician) and K30 with a relevant comment about the appointment if required.
What I am looking to do is build a tool that allows me to type in the team members' names - John, Jen, etc., and the date in question - and return the number of times that the name appears in the relevant date column (J, L, N etc)
I can build it as a table at the top of the sheet using countifs based on the columns below, but this isn't very practical.
do i need to build some sort of reference point so excel understands that column J,L,N = 1/2/3 august?
