Auto filter copy paste problem

Using Excel 2007 and looking at archives with this problem, I'm supposed to filter>goto>special>visible cells>OK>copy>paste. I'm only getting about half of the cells that I copied. Tried just a straight copy & paste with same result. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Any help will be appreciated.

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
once you do the autofilter select the FILTERED data and click edit-copy
go to another location and click edit-paste

"visible cells" etc come in only if you want to write a macro

In the interest of dealing with this issue, let me tell what I've learned while this was driving me crazy. I can copy filtered data with a simple Ctrl + C and can paste it to a location below the original data and it will paste ALL the data as copied without any hidden data pasted. If I try to paste this data to the right of the original data with several blank columns in between, only a portion of the copied data will be pasted. I can also paste it to the right IF its below the original data.

Very strange and I thought I'd pass it along for what its worth.

Thanks

Are you sure that if you paste the data to the right it's not being partially hidden by the filtering of the original data? Try copy/pasting to the right (with a blank column in between), then remove the autofilter to see if it's all been pasted.
