I'm running Excel 2010. Any time I calculate a percentage, Excel gives me a number with 15 or 16 decimal places. I cannot find any options that will set my calcs to 2 decimal places. Anyone know how I can do this?
is excel 2010 different in this from earlier versions. when you format as percentage you can decide the no. of decimal places (see foramt cells window)
Yes, I understand how to format a cell. But when I make the calculation initially or edit the formaula, Excel re-formats the cell to 16 decimal places. How do I keep it from automatically changing my format of 2 decimal places to 16 decimal places?
I do not have excel 2010. however try. If that particular column is having all percentages highlight the column and format as percentage with 2 decimal places.
do experiment. in a blank sheet highlight column A as percentage with 2 decimal places. then type in any cell in columnA =1/3 see what happens
