How do you import data into excel from a csv file automatically. I need to create a graphical dashboard in excel using the data from the csv. This data file will be provided by third party at a specific location on Unix.
I want to know how to set name and location of the csv file (say temp.csv) so whenever excel is opened the graphical dashboard displays according to new the data.
I think it can be done using macros but never used macros in my life so please help me assuming I have no clue about VB code or macros.
Thanks in advance

Hello and Welcome,

You might want to use Data Connections to do this. You can find step-by-step instructions in Excel's Help. In Excel's 2007, the Help Topic is named "Connect to (Import) external data".
