Auto updating of fields

I have created a Daily Log Form. I have used the =Today() formula, I want the current date entered in the field. After I save todays log I dont want the field to auto update ... is that possible?

Example: I fill in the form today and save (the value in the field is 11/7/02). If I open the Log for 11/7 on 11/25 I dont want the date to show 11/25/02.

You can use

Ctrl + ; and Ctrl + Alt + ; or

a macro or data validation

I am not an advanced excel user ... could use a lil more detail as to what you mean

To get todays date press Ctrl + ; and this will not update
