Automatic Cell Formatting

Hi all,

Need to format entire row of cells where data in column F is specific value.

Is there a way of doing this through conditional formatting?

yes you can do it with conditional formatting. with column/row reference locked.

Yes - you can use formulas in CF. For example select columns A:G, then use a formula in CF like:
=$F1="Overdue"
for example. Note the $ in front of the F to fix the column reference for all cells the CF is applied to.

Yes, you can do this.

Suppose, you want a particular format for entire row, where in which the value in column F equals "A".

Select all, or select the entire range of your data.

Go to conditional formatting->New Rule -> Use a formula..

Under "format values where this formula is true", put the following

=$F1="A"

Click format, and choose the format.
Click OK.. and you should be done.
