Automatically selecting item from data validation list when changing sheets

Hi,

Hopefully a simple one that is confusing me...

When I switch to a particular sheet, I want a certain item from a data validation list to be selected automatically, however when I record a macro to do this it does not remember my keystrokes and thus records nothing.

Is this something I'm doing wrong or just a quirk in Excel?

Any help appreciated!

Why not just assign the value you want to the cell you want?
