Hi,

I've set up a pivot table in a way that shows averages.
The subtotal average of each group, doesn't match with the average if the group of cells is selected.
I hope the image explains better, the highlighted numbers should be the same, but they don't match.

Thanks

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.

No they shouldn't, unless you have exactly the same number of records in each level.

For example, let's say you had 3 L1 records with values of 1,2 and 3. Their average is 2. Now let's say you also have one L2 record with value 4 - its average is obviously 4. The average of 4 and 2 is 3, but the average of all your records (1,2,3,4) is 2.5 which is what the subtotal would give you.
