I would like to average cells but include blanks as zero. I started doing a global replace and replacing blank cells with 0, but this is taking far too much processing time.

Please help

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
Assuming your data resided in A1:E1, then the following would work:

=SUM(A1:E1)/COLUMNS(A1:E1)
