AVERAGEIF - how to set criterion as a range

★How does one set the criterion in an AVERAGEIF function as a range?
e.g. the idea is to do something like this (which doesn't work): =AVERAGEIF(F5:F689,AND(">9","<10"),V5:V689)

averageif is a new one for me I got excel 2000 sorry

Try using the averageifs function instead.
