I have a 17digit number in cell A2. This 17 digit is alpha-numeric and it has to be entered exactly into a webpage. So I want to convert this cell to a barcode and have a handheld barcode reader scan the cell and enter into the web page. In Cell A3, I have the following formula; +"*"&A2&"*" The font of Cell A3 is barcode.

I want to use a handheld barcode reader to scan Cell A3 on the computer and place it in a webpage. Is there a particular font size this should be so the barcode reader can pick it up?

Thanks for any help

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
No particular size as far as I know. It depends on the capability of the barcode reader (its resolution)
