Barcode Scanner

Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone knew if i need special code to use a barcode scanner (usb) to fill in a textbox.

i will use that rather than a keyboard. I dont have the scanner yet but want to know if i need something or just plug and scan

We have some barcode scanners at work and they use keyboard emulation. I don't know if they all work that way or not, but if yours does then you shouldn't need anything else. Just put the cursor in the textbox and scan the barcode. It should put the number in the textbox.

Scanners will work just like a keyboard inputting information at the point of your cursor. No special software is required.
