I have about 200 rows, all the items on the first page need a validation input message....

I can make an identical set of 200 rows on the second sheet, with the info each of them need

Is there a way to add this kind of stuff automatically??

thanks

Matt

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
Can you explain what's on the second sheet exactly, and how you want that incorporated into the Data Validation function for the first sheet?

Hi Glenn, thanks for your interest

well, here is a simplified version
Excel Workbook
A
1dog
2dog
3cat
4cat
5dog
6bird
Sheet1
Excel 2003
Excel Workbook
A
1rex
2fido
3thaddeus
4schnookums
5biter
6polly
Sheet2
Excel 2003

and the real deal is a bit more complex

its the company name on the first sheet, and a range of company info on two rows (A:AB), the header row and the info row

As for validation input message, Im talking about when a cell is highlighted, Data>Validation>Input Message

thanks

Matt

PS, if there is an alternative way to do it with a pop up window or something similar, Im interested, it doesnt have to be this method
