I have a set of 9 numbers like this in cell L7 000 000 500 050 005 550 505 055 555

What command should I use to break them apart and put them in cells L8, L9, L10, L11, L12, L13, L14, L15, L16?

I would think this might be a function but not sure.

Any ideas out there?

Again as always thanks in advance for any and all help!

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
That's very close thanks. I was also looking at the TRIM function.

How can I keep the cells in one line instead of a column going down?

Are there always 3 digits for each number?

Try this in M7 and copy across.

=TRIM(MID($L7,(COLUMN()-13)*4+1,4))

Trim function can't perform this action as it removes preceding and trailing spaces.

You can use the same formulas on the same row (col M to col U if they are blank). Is that what you mean by "How can I keep the cells in one line instead of a column going down? "

Where do you want the results?

In the original post you said L8, L9... etc, which is down a column.

Taurean posted formulas for that.

I assumed you wanted it across, probably because I didn't pick up on the L8, L9... originally.

My bad. I was in a rush.

They should be L8, M8, M9, N10, N11, O11, P11, Q11, R11

Again my bad I apologize for the goof!

So you want it down a row, across 2 columns (L8:M8), down a row(M9), across a column and down a row (N10), down a row (N11) and finally across 4 columns (O11:R11).

They should be L11, M11, N11, N11, O11, P11, Q11, R11, S11.

I think I need another pot of coffee!!!

This should clarify it.

I hope you are doing well Norie. I always enjoy reading your posts and I try to read older posts of yours to learn more.
