Hi,

I am trying to superpose our workforce over our workload. Basically I want to identify wich week I will be overstaff/shortstaff so I can push/pull some due date. Knowing my vacation dates, longterm sick, Maternity leave, ect. How could I transpose this in a calendar and compare to my workload.

Any Idea will help me. We don't want to get to much in micro like many hight expensive software propose, just a general view will help us.

Hope I make myself understand.

Thanks.

Hi,

Even without going into a lot of detail this is not trivial. Probably at a minimum, you are talking about 60 - 80 hours of development work from a consultant. You will need to consider the following:

1. How are you scheduling? Do you need to assign each task to a staff member on a set date? Or will you be scheduling tasks for a set day, assigning staff to those days, and balancing available man-hours with scheduled durations?

2. What reports do you need to see?

3. Will you give people differing levels of access -- eg: some can create tasks, others can assign, and the workers can report on status?

There are many more questions, but this should get you started.
