building an object name from variables

I would like to be able to create an object name (from the values in other variables) which I can then use to reference the object. e.g.:-

varOptButNum = "24"
varOptBut = "OptionButton" & varOptButNum

I end up with varOptBut = OptionButton24

I then want to be able to set the value of OptionButton24 to True but I can not figure out how to do that.

I tried using
varOptBut.Value = True but that did not work. Anybody got any clues?

Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Hi

You can't do that directly, but you can use a string (which varOptBut is) to return the member of a collection:

Code:
'eg on a userform:
Dim varOptButNum As String, varOptBut As String
varOptButNum = "24"
varOptBut  = "OptionButton" & varOptButNum

Me.Controls(varOptBut).Value = True
