Calculate the subtotals and grand totals with or without filtered items in Excel Pivot table:

I have a salary table and have drawn departmental pivot tables from this. I want to hide certain staff names from the list (cos of salary sensitivity!) by using filters, yet include their salary in the subtotal for the department.

I think this is possible in OLAP Cube, but is this possible in Excel Pivot table. (I tried using the Options in Pivot table, but could not do it::confused: (as the Filter's option "Subtotal Filtered Page items" is greyed out and cannot be selected)

Please help!!!
