Hi, apologies for not having searched before posting as I haven't a clue as to how to search for what I'm trying to do

In short, I have an order worksheet with order values in one row and the date of the order in the row below. How am I able to calculate the total value of all orders in a particular month without manually summing each cell for January, February etc?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
Thanks for suggesting SUMPRODUCT; an online article linked from the Excel help for this function raised SUMIF to my attention, which fits my needs perfectly. Thanks for the help
