I know this will be very easy for you guys and I am at a loss why I don't know it. Blaming it on age.

I have current year sales and % growth. I am trying to find YA sales.

I know how to calculate the percentage but can't figure how to reverse the formula.

So if:
A (curr sales) = 10
B (YA sales) = 8
C = % growth

(A-B)/B=C

If I don't have B but have A and C, how do I find B?

thanks!

Excel Facts

Enter current date or time
Ctrl+: enters current time. Ctrl+; enters current date. Use Ctrl+: Ctrl+; Enter for current date & time.
I think this is the easist way.

A - (CxA)

Current year sales - (growth in percentage x current year sales)

thanks Simon. It doesn't quite work though.

A = 10
B = 8
C = .25

Your formula would give me 7.5 as B. I appreciate it though.
