Calculation based on cell colour

Can I do calculations based on a cell colour?
for example if a cell is coloured red, and I would like to count the amount of cell coloured red, how would I do that, or as a seperate calculation, cells coloured yellow or orange?
The cells have no values in them.

Thanks for the referal, this is an awesome UDF, that Excel should think about incorporating into the later versions as a perminent addition/function
