Hi

I have a workbook which has lots of calculations which I am still setting up and I share with a colleag...it takes about 20 seconds to calculate at the moment. I have set the options to manual and NOT save before calculation. I calculate induvidual sheets using alt f9. I have saved the file.

My colleague then opens the file (from a shared drive) and the file will take many minutes to open (and calculate) and each time he used alt f9 to calculate a sheet it takes minutes to complete. Calculation is now set as on although his options are set to calculation off before he opens the workbook.

When my colleague has saved the file and I open it up it works as before...ie opens quickly and with calculation off.

Both PC's are identical in memory and size of drive etc.

Any suggestions, please?

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
Are you both using the same version of Excel? Does your colleague have any more programs or background processes running than you? Do any other spreadsheets or programs run slower on your colleague's computer?
