Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
well at the basic level:

msgbox application.calculation

will give you a rather cryptic indication - you just need to build an if statement to give these values english text names

Hi there,

Enter the following code into the 'ThisWorkbook' section of code for your workbook

Code:
Private Sub Workbook_Open()
If Application.Calculation = xlCalculationAutomatic Then
    msg = MsgBox("Calculation is Automatic")
ElseIf Application.Calculation = xlCalculationManual Then
    msg = MsgBox("Calculation is Manual")
ElseIf Application.Calculation = xlCalculationSemiautomatic Then
    msg = MsgBox("Calculation is Automatic except Tables")
End If
End Sub

Hope this helps

Richard
