Can anyone help me with this maths question

Our local tax office couldn't answer this question and was hoping you can:

To work out how much it would cost a company to pay someone in Sweden you calculate as follows:

net + 33% tax + 32.82% employers tax = total cost
£1000 + 33% tax + 32.82% employers tax = £3096.50 total cost

But the problem is how do you calculate that backwards?

If the company can pay £4000 how would you get the amount for:
net = £
tax = £
Employers tax =£

Richie's right if tax is 33% of the gross. That's not how your question was phrased, so be careful with my solution.

You had it right, it was probably the way I worded the question but your solution gets me to the figure i need.

To get to the gross i have always added 33% to what i take out as net

So the tax rate is 25% of the gross, right?
