Can password protecting and unprotecting sheet be sped up

With Office 2016 I think, Micosoft added new password encryption that slowed down the process of protecting and unprotecting worksheets.
Has there been any progress on this front to speed the process up. Macros that used to take less than a second to run are running seconds now

What code are you using ?
AND is it part of a bigger code ?
I don't have any speed issues with P / UnP worksheets
