How can I select/copy a cell based on its font color? I need to search down the entire column B, D, and F of a table for the cells with red color, and then copy them, paste into a new table, while keeping the headers. The number of rows in the table could be any.

Thanks a lot in advance!

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
How did the cells get their color... manually set or from Conditional Formatting? If Conditional Formatting, what are the rules governing the cells in question?

Thanks for your reply!

The red color is there already when I open the file. The color is either red or black. I just need to pick out the cells in column B,D,F with red color and copy them, and then make a new table with them in a new workbook. I need to perform this action with some very large tables.

For example:

A B C D E F G
1
2
3 r r r r r r r
4
5 r r r r r r r
6
7 r r r r r r r

Thanks

I still need to know how that color got into the cells... it makes a difference on how I answer your question. Do this... select one of the red cells, then right click that cell and select Format Cells from the popup menu that appears, then click the Patterns tab on the dialog box that appears... does the red color appear in the box labeled "Sample"? If not, what version of Excel are you using?
