I am just starting a statistics class which requires us to use Megastat.
I am doing Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) on what is a really simple
group of data. I am getting the following result as my p-value from ANOVA: 1.38E-05, which I assume means I've made an error of some kind, but for the life of me I can't figure out what I could be doing wrong.
I highlight the data and click on the ANOVA dialog box, and get that ridiculous value (which, by the way, is highlighted in yellow on my output sheet).

Excel Facts

Waterfall charts in Excel?
Office 365 customers have access to Waterfall charts since late 2016. They were added to Excel 2019.
my p-value from ANOVA: 1.38E-05

1.38E-05 = 1.38 x 10^-5, or 0.0000138

Your p-value is essentially zero. If p is low, Ho (null hypothesis) must go. Usually Ho is that there is no difference between your two sets of data. With p low, you should be confident that your two data sets are indeed different.

But, that's a lesson for another forum. If you doubt Excel's ANOVA result, you should test your data with another piece of stat software, like MINITAB.
