I want to temporarily cancel the SelectionChange event on a worksheet while I run a macro. Can I turn this off from a module outside of the worksheet code?

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
Yes, in your code use

Code:
Application.EnableEvents = False

to disable the event code. Don't forget to set it back to True!
