Cannot insert Timeline due to blank cells

Hello all. General pivot table question - I feel like there is a very easy fix to this, but I keep getting the error message "we can't create a timeline for this report because it doesn't have a field formatted as Date" when I try to insert a Timeline because there are blank date cells. It seems to work fine when there are no blanks.

Suggestions? How do I get around this? I cannot fill in the blank cells as there is no associated date to enter and I don't want to put a value in them.

Maybe some of the cells aren't actually blanks. Filter the column to show blanks. Highlight the cells and press delete. Then try to insert a new timeline for that column

Yw. I've had similar issues in the past with timelines and slicers.

Usually caused by incorrect data or formats i.e. text in date columns
